1. Definition ---what is mod
MOD is an informal name of tapeless video formats used by JVC, Panasonic and Canon in some models of digital camcorders.
A MOD file contains a set of instruments in the form of samples,a number of patterns indicating how and when the samples are to be played, and a list of what patterns to play in what order.
2. How to play mod files?
In fact, MOD video files are nothing but MPEG-2 files with AC3 audio, so you can use MPlayer OS X or VLC Media Player to play MOD files on Mac freely after renaming .MOD into .MV2 or .MPG files.
3. How to convert mod files?
