Xvid is the name of a popular new video codec being developed as an open source project by volunteer programmers from all over the world. The Xvid codec makes it possible to compress a full-length dvd-quality movie enough to fit on one or two cds, depending on the length of the movie.

Additional Requirements: To convert videos from mpeg files to xvid format, you must have mpeg to xvid converter(ImToo MPEG Encoder) installed!

Launch Imtoo MPEG Encoder Standard

Once mpeg to xvid converter is installed properly , launch it and run it in your computer.

Add files

Click on the " File-Add files" button on the tool bar. The standard file open dialog appears. Select your mpeg files that want to convert to xvid files. Later, the files will be added to the conversion file list.

Select output format:

Use the settings panel on the bottom of the window to control the output format. Click on the "Profile" label to expand the panel. Select"Xvid Movie(.*avi).

Change video settings

Click"profile settings" label to expand the panel. Here you can select video size, bit rate, NTSC/PAL, frame rate, audio codec, sample rate etc. You can adjust settings by two ways, one screenshot just like picture1, another like picture2 in the right.

Select ouptut directory

Expand the "destination" panel. Use the "Browse" button to select an output directory.

Convert

Press button on the tool bar to start conversion task.
